I have not successfully gotten some of the function keys, like volume and brightness, to work, but I also haven't really looked into the manual to see how to do that. I still make typos sometimes, because my fingers aren't used to stretching so far, but my hand pain has gone away - this is in conjunction with lowering my desktop surface and getting a real mouse, so not sure how much is due completely to this keyboard, but I love using it and having my MacBook screen elevated. (I turn it off every night to save power.) I was skeptical at first, but this has been extremely useful. The main thing is that the battery life seems excellent (I've charged it maybe once in the six weeks or so I've been using it), and after the initial pairing, it pairs quickly and seamlessly with my MacBook once I turn it on. It's a large keyboard, and if you are a crossover typist (a term I just learned for someone like me who apparently learned to type the "B" using the right hand, which is incorrect), you will have some slight re-learning to do. So moral of the story…just don’t do it.Ĭonnects easily and quickly to my MacBook Pro 2017 after initial setup But the keyboard that came with my computer hasn’t been charged for a month and sitting in my desk drawer….works just fine.
I charged it up fully when I received it….used it for a total of 3 hours over 5 days…and BAM…no charge. I hadn’t been in my office for 2 days…and the keyboard was dead…not just a little dead…but just dead. It’s “supposed” to go to sleep when not in use to save the battery and it didn’t. Welp…I got it and everything was great….until it wasn’t. Figured instead of spending the $110 for the apple keyboard I would try to save a little cash and buy this one. So got this because I needed a bigger keyboard than the one that came with my iMac. Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2021
The cushion for the palm rest is a real added bonus. I just started to use the keyboard and the split keyboard is something that I have been use to in the past so it feels natural for me. I did take a quick video so you can listen for yourself. This one is one that both of us can love!Īll of they keys are super quiet - the nosiest key is the space bar. My boyfriend is really bothered by the noise of keys being pressed - but I like chunky keys over the flat chiclet keys - so over the months I have kept buying keyboards and either I love them or he does- but one of us loses. The only thing that could make this keyboard better is if it was backlit and had some cool light effects like my previous keyboard. My search for a quiet, comfortable, mac friendly and reasonably priced keyboard has come to an end.
